ive got a line up of subs that would kick the crap out of a jackhammer. the jackhammer is for rich people that are complete idiots an they want the biggest and flashy speakers out there. the new XXX 18" will beat the jack hammer in ever aspect there is execpt for weight which is a good thing.
I got another question to throw in here:
I am looking into sub boxes that i could add to my system in a while when i get some more money. Im looking for a completely enclosed bandpass box because I'd like to be able to have sh*t in my trunk and not worry about puncturing the woofers. Any thoughts on whether bandpass boxes are any good or should I find other means to protect the speakers. Also if you could make some sugegstions I have one channel putting out 200 watts rms to work with. any thoughts?
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-o2Wl13C...Alpine+MRVF450 - that is the amp I have, and the last channel thats putting out 200 watts is what I to work with. I also plan on adding a separate amp further down the line that will do around 400 watts.
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-o2Wl13C...10&I=028V103BP - sub/enclosure combo i was considering.
I don't want the loudest system on the block, but when i leave my High School parking lot i want ppl to turn their heads. Thanks for al the help in advance.

My friend had an 18" XXX in his Teg... quad voice coils, 2200 RMS going to it. It got deep, but a single ported 15" brahma got louder with only 1500 watts
Alpine makes fairly good stuff for the money, RF doesnt make bad stuff, as long as you get the higher end (slightly more expensive than the alpine... but not as good)
Check out www.adireaudio.com and check out their Shiva subwoofer.
Get one of those (12") in a ported box. Make sure the box is the right size and tuning frequency for the sub please
A note about bandpass: Prefabbed boxes suck. NEVER EVER GET ONE. It will rattle the crap out of itself, and sound even worse.
Get a grill for you sub, it'll be plenty. And use common sense.

Hey thanks for the bandpass advice. I had heard good and bad things about them, but think your right baout the grilles. My buddy has 2 JL subs in his stag with just grilles, and hes got baseball sh*t and other stuff in his trunk and nothing has ever happened.
bandpasses can be good if properly built but if not they are just going to be crap. you not going to get much attention with 200 watts. youll want to get some extra cash and an extra amp to power the subs. usually you can pick the subs you want then get the amp to power them.
Yeah the 200 watts is only so i can have some sound until i get more money to buy a better amp. I'd be getting another alpine amp that would get much closer to the RMS of the subs I buy. I like alpine cuz ive got an alpine HU and they link directly fromt he amp to the HU and it offers more control over your amp without going back and tuning it.
since its 4ohm stable amp id probaly go 1 american bass DX12 with a custom ported box tuned to around 35 hz that will get decently loud and should be alright on that power too. and you can get that setup for around 250-275.
