Default 12" sub?

i was just wondering if anyone has put a 12" sub in their mustangs with a big box? i am trying to decide between a 10 and a 12. i would like to get the 12 but i am concerned about whether or not i will have enough space for a box. i would like to port the box also. so should i chance the 12" or get a 10"?
thanks

depends on what you call a big box. some subs like small ported boxes i.e. JL Audio w6v2 likes a nice 1.25cf ported box. then there's others like a 12" kicker solo X that works well in a 5cf ported box. So really it depends on your application. I could tell you more if you had a particular sub in mind.

Get a 12" its always better to have too much than not enough.... I have a 12" MTX in my 86 vert and i love it, the box goes all the way across (which is big) and it sounds good...

I will say that I think I may have purchase to much of a woofer on this one, now that i think of it , this solo x is a little extreme but owell like they say too much is better than not enough'

I bought the badpass dual sub box and i can't get that through the trunk or in by pulling the seets down i have to take my back seats out to get it in through the trunk atleast thats what someone told me. I srill haven' t tried it yet because I can't figure out how to get my back seets out.

Make sure you look at the manual before you get you box because each sub is made for a certain size box! You can have too big of a box. There wont be enough air pressure and the sub wont pound and hard or loud as it should.

i'm running a 12" alpine type R and i built the box before i had my stang so its a little too tall to fit under the plastic piece thats mounted under the deck lid, but after thats removed it should fit. btw the box is ported at 1.75 cubes

that should be very close to what the alpine wants, you will have to look. if you still have a problem getting the box in you can take out the back seat if its not a convertable.

i couldnt find a dual box to fit my12s and i still dont feel like paying an audio shop to build me one either cuz my 12s are kinda low wattage and i dont want a box built to there specs and then decide to upgrade and new a whole new box ......
