Default Changing out the Mach 460 Headunit

Okay, im wanting to change out my stock Mach 460 6disc headunit in my 2001 Mustang GT. But how do I wire in the aftermarket deck as far as the built in amps go, I have heard of people taking RCA's choping them and wire it in that way from your pre outs, but is there a better way, and if not does anyone know where I can find a wiring diagram for the 460.

When they changed out my headunit for an aftermarket one, they had to rewire the whole car.

that's crap... you don't have to change anything out... or make any of your own wiring. Assuming the deck you are getting has an amp inside of it, that will replace the deck that used to be inside the factory one. Just get the METRA 70-5519 harness for your deck, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...lance&n=172282

most audio places have those too, just don't go to best buy, they gave me the pre 2001 harness. That's what i have with my eclipse deck, and it sounds awesome through the rest of the stock mach 460 system. Just had to mess around with which of the amp outs i should use... went with the non fader out cuz it sounded the best. The greatest part is... you can do all this yourself in about 10 - 15 minutes. And i get compliments on my sound quality all the time. Heres an article about all this: http://www.stangnet.com/Tech-Article...ad-Unit-2.html

Thank you so much for that link!

I am going to have to replace my unit (the cd changer broke) and was looking for help in 2 areas.
1 - how to wire it up
2 - what to do with the non-standard sized faceplate area.

Just looking over the article looks to solve all the problems....
