line out converter or a hi lo adaptor you hook it to you factory speaker wires and it converts it to rca outputs but when you hook it to factory radios it never really sounds that great.if you car has amps in it sometime when you turn your radio off you get a pop through the speakers they are availible at most local audio shops if $ is a concern or you dont wont to lose the factory head unit it is the only way to go.i suggest to just yank out that factory head unit and you will have alot better sound quality.hope that helps you out

i used a line out converter for my first sub installation, and i didnt think it sounded bad at all, if your gonna wire the converter yourself, be careful, my first time took me like 2 hours tryin to match up all the wires
