Default Radio..constant power wir

I am having trouble finding the constant power wire for the radio in my 1984 2.3L Mustang. I have found the ignition power, and a wire that should be the constant power, but it has no power at all. Can anyone please tell me what color it should be?

Cant tell you the color, but did ya look for blown fuses?

If not, just get a small wire, 14 gauge or so, and run it back from your battery. Put a small inline fuse in it (10 to 15 amps max) and run it to your stereo. shouldnt be to hard, worst part will be cutting thru the firewall, which is easy.

Accualy, i found an even easier solution. I decided to tap into the cigarete lighter for constant power, but will i need a fuse for the wire? Or is there already one that will protect it and the lighter?

Cig lighter is fine for power. This is a listing of stock wiring colors and locations on the plugs.... hope this helps.</P>
