9/16 bearing in UCA LCA
I've been fighting the infamous "clunk" after installing my BMR combo UCA. I've read on this forum that the bearing BMR uses on the combo LCA and UCA is a 9/16 bearing and the difference between 9/16 bearing and the 14mm bolt is where the clunk is coming from. Can anyone confirm that the bearings used on my LCA's and UCA are in fact 9/16?
Thanks.
Thanks.

You are correct the bearings are 9/16" a 14mm bearing is not available. It has been in my experience thesize mismatch between the factory bolt and the factory upper control arm mount has beena culprit for clunks if not properly torqued. Using a 9/16 bolt versus the stock 14mm will also help in this situation.
Have you tried lubricating the joint? I recommend using a graphite lubricant to help keep from attracting contaminants.

RE: 9/16 bearing in UCA LCA
I have already tried eliminating the difference between the factory mount and BMR UCA by adding Steeda's step spacer. This did minimize the clunk but it's still present under the right conditions. I have purchased grade 89/16 hardware and will try replacing the factory 14mm hardware with this. I can understand using a 9/16 bearing if a 14mm is not available, but I think out of consideration to the customers purchasing these components a note should be included with the instructions. I followed the supplied instructions to the letter and was suprised to have such a horrible noise. It wasn't until I started researching and talking with other members on this board that I found out about the needfor the step spacers, and 9/16 hardware. Unfortunately, I didn't find out about them at the same time so now I'm on my third attempt with the UCA's. A small note would have helped and in all honesty would not have been nearly as frustrating as doing a job three times. I just hope in this case the third time is a charm.

JZ, sorry that you had an issue with our parts. All of the bearing sizing is SAE sizing and not the metric version. Let us know if you are still having any issues.
