Talking How to evaluate price of used 2008 Mustang Bullitt

I am looking a buying a 2008 Mustang Bullitt with 30,980 miles priced at $16,995. Using KBB and Edmunds has been impossible to try to find the actual value of this make and model.
What would be a good counter-offer for this car?

Thank you,

KBB does have a listing option for this car and it says the average listing price is $16132. So the price seems reasonably fair.

Keep in mind that prices vary regionally, and when possible I like to look up any comparable vehicles private and/or dealer party sales and compare asking prices with whatever KBB says. Which admittedly will be tough with a Bullitt model as they only made around 5,000 or so of them; you may need to search well outside of your geographical area to find any comp's.

I find that KBB prices are generous and don't often reflect what the car can be had for. Dealers laugh at KBB prices for trade in cars and are often thousands, not hundreds off, on what they will give you. But it is a good starting point and the bottom line is that if you are satisfied, that is all that matters. The dealer will never sell you a car that he is losing money on despite all their crying and whining on the great deal you just got.

Thanks. I guess I'm a KBB rookie when it comes to special models. Appreciate the info.

Getting back to this thread as I have an update.

The 2008 Mustang Bullitt is "black" not the "green" as seen in the movie. Would that make any difference in the price?
Also, the dealer just marked the price up to $17,495. Any feedback would be helpful. I kind of wanted the "green" but will be ok with the "black". Kind of upset that the price went up $500.
Thanks in advance.

Some one else may know better but all the Bullets I've ever seen are green as black is not the color of the original. Wonder if it is really a "Bullet" mustang.

The 2001 Bullitt was produced in Dark Highland Green, blue and black. Forget what the actual paint names were on the last two, but the majority were DHG. The 2008 model, to the best of my knowledge was available only in DHG. The car you're looking at could be legit, but I would want to check the door jamb decal for paint code and Google it. If it has been repainted in a different color, IMO since it is a "special" model with some degree of collectibility I would say that would decrease value. At the end of the day though; bone stock, modified, bedazzled, whatever... It's worth whatever a buyer is willing to pay.

Aaaaaand, I stand corrected. Black was a factory option for the Bullitt. 4377 made in DHG, 1431 made in Black. Looks like you found yourself a rare beast there.
