what about stopping water from getting to the filter? 13's have this problem when going to a intake.

With that hood you can see the Rear vents are even further back than stock.

Right, but the ram air is what I was referring to.

meh, with a properly designed scoop it has a catch point to prevent water reaching the filter.
Yeah jj that is what i meant, guess i shouldnt have said vent lol. That's cool that it comes with a functional scoop, seems a lot of hoods put a scoop and then just let it blow on the engine.

You would think, but I've seen hoods setup like this that weren't design to catch water. Just free flowing. A guy over on s197's forum almost hurt his motor on his 13 because of not having something to catch/block off the water.

They may have, I dunno worth calling and asking though. Looking at the cobra r or cowl hood my self.

I will definitely keep that in mind before we buy one.

As for the Cobra R Hood..I would like to get high rise cowl hood, but I don't think it will seal against the JLT CAI.

I'm not sure if they even make a high rise cowl hood that seals against the JLT. I believe I'm stuck with what I got. LOL

The cowl is made to let cool air that goes over the hood in to the engine bay from behind. In a sense cooling it off, a low pressure vacuum is created at the cowl and air is forced in to the engine bay.

Really if you think about it you still have a "ram air" if you still have the stock peice by the radiator that direct air to the air box.

I understand how it works, but with the high rise cowl the open top of the CAI I don't think will seal against the hood.
