I've gotten hit a couple of times. According to Navy Fed (who is very quick to catch these scumbags) what they do is generate the numbers with a random number generator and test them with certain companies (like the UK telecom ones) who aren't so big on internet security to see if they are valid or not. If they get a couple of purchases through they sell the cards off and whoever gets them whacks you with the big charge.

Too bad there isn't a way to embed the fake cards with thermite. These assnuggets deserve to die by fire.
