3 charges to the UK pre-paid cellphone company just processed. All I know is that if I ever decide to start being a POS thief I'll steal more than $9.30...what a waste of their time and mine.

 

That's a tactic. They are doing small charges to see if you notice before going big, without drawing attention. If this didn't get caught after the first 5 or so charges they would've slammed you with a huge charge and left you broke.

 

That would have sucked hard.

 

If that had happened, we could all pitch in and buy you a plane ticket, send you and a suitcase full of hammers over to the UK, and then you could fix the problem.

If that's the case it seems like you'd want to go big first and then drop the card so you won't be tempted to use it again and make a trail. Just have to make sure that you keep your face covered the time you use it as you'll be pegged in that location at a certain time and they can check surveillance cameras.

Not advocating anything...but it just seems odd that they would go for a few small charges first just to test the waters. Maybe I'm missing something though.
