Default Some minor repairs...

So as a few of you know, I bought my foxbody not knowing how badly it was burning oil. I found out pretty soon after driving it around for a while. Probably could have rolled with it but it bugged the crap out of me. I had a very strong suspicion that it was the valve guides so I decided to pull the heads off and send them to a machine shop.

So, started taking it apart late Thursday, dropped the heads off at the shop Friday morning, got them back Friday night, assembled and fired it up by Saturday morning. Not bad, eh?

Completely solved the problem, by the way. There is NO exhaust smoke and now it just smells like regular exhaust rather then burning oil. And it is driving like a brand new car, very glad I decided to use my weekend to do this.

Didn't take very many pictures...

Glad to hear it was nothing too serious.

That's good news. Are you running a carb or FI? I see bud is getting some free advertisement there, probably a key component to your toolbox too.

Nice, and awesome turnaround from the shop.

My Dad and I are restoring a 49 ****** Jeep and the guy has had the engine for 2 months. It is still sitting exactly where we set it when we dropped it off. It won't be there next week. Either he starts working on it or we take it somewhere else.

That's some BS, I would definitely pick it up and take it somewhere else. And I was amazed at the turnaround as well. I called around the day before and he was the only one that could get them back to me so quick, everyone else said next week (because the holiday weekend).

It's fuel injected. And yes, I don't think I could have done it without the bud

So i'm curious...were you drinking the beer or using it to remove corrosion from the battery posts??

Nah, you use Coca Cola to remove the corrosion from battery posts.

That is an awesome turn around. It took 2 weeks for me to get a set of heads done at a shop down here.

Good work!
