Default Exterior Makeover

Ok guys its been a while since I did anything exterior to the car...and to be honest looking for a lil change here! Need your opinion...

Heres my car as it sits now:

Gt/cs front fascia, rtr side splitters stock rear valance w/ gt500 AB & Raxiom Taillights

Option #1: ($3,000)
REAR: '13 GT500 rearend (bumper, taillights, valance, exhaust)
SIDES: painted Side skirts and keep RTR side splitters
FRONT: ROUSH front fascia w/fog lights and splitter

Option #2: ($1,000)
REAR: '12 GT/CS rear valance Painted (ala 3d carbon), keep Taillights I have now
SIDES: Painted side skirts and CF Side splitters
FRONT: paint GT/CS front fascia and keep custom CF front splitter

Option #3: ($150)
Add '12 rear Gt/Cs valance only and keep all the rest as is

Few pics to help you decide:

I'm split between the first and third options. Just can't see the point in painting the cs valance, and I really like the 13 tail lights. If you decide on the gt500 route let me know and I'll take the front valance off your hands. Jason might still have his roush front end, no paint required lol.

a member on another forum offered up this idea...
painting the rear, sides, and only painting the side of the front to make it flow with the sides like this..
I really like this idea!
Talked to my painter and he quoted me $300...complete Labor & paint to do this! Add the cost of the GT/CS rear valance & the CF Side Splitters and we are only at $850!!

OP,

Personally, I really like the Boss/CS front fasica, so I wouldn't change it. Actually, your whole Mustang is wicked looking! But, I understand you're searching for a change so, I would only switch the rear to the 2013 GT500 setup. The twin tip exhaust would really go well with your current look. Painted side skirts is a nice clean look as well.

Good luck with your decision!

It has always been that the lower models had this black plastic stuff and the more luxury models had painted pieces. (F150, Sport Trac, Explorer etc.) the XL and Base models had black plastic whereas the Limited and Lariat has painted pieces.

So when I see the plastic on my car it has always given me a "you bought the budget model" feeling. SO I think painting the plastic makes it look classier...

Heres another pic I Photoshopped:

I have decided to stick with the cheapest opttion of adding the GT500 rear valance only. Not because of price, but because of ease. After much debate I feel that painted rockers on any other color looks great, but white is just too much!

SO I have changed my attention to possible stripe options....specifically the 2012 ROUSH Hockey Stripe Style.

NOT going to add any ROUSH badging or fake what the car is. But I have an idea of changing the RS3 lettering to 5.0L. The stripe will be a White DiNoc CF (Matte white) and it will kinda give a little ghost effect on my Glossy white car. Kinda like this Matte Black on Black car.

If I decide to do the Red accent stripe I will match it with Red 4-piston Calipers, black stripe (CF) will get Black 4-piston Calipers.

what are your thoughts?

I like the idea, what about a silver tint to the L instead of white? A little more visibility and still low key. I can barely make out the decal in the picture, maybe it is different in person.

Here's a silver one...it's ok and I did debate that but like the idea of the White CF:

Here is a quick photoshop pic I did too:

I like the black stripe, if the appearance from a distance is like the first photos you posted then the red strip will appear to be alone without anything to match it. The black goes with the trim.
