This event benefits a charity, is cheaper and occupies only a single day for most. I haven't ruled out the NCCAR event yet, but that is 250 miles and would need two hotel nights most likely. Quite a bit more expensive, for me anyway.

For me I bring my wife and daughter and they get to ride along. They also want to take a lap in the Atom and drive the go carts again.

It's not really a "parade" either. There is a pace car, but it's not going slow. The pace is really group dependent. I only had one session where the pace was a little slow, but still managed 120+ on both the back and front straights. In the faster groups we hit 140 on the back straight.

Damn. Jason (my son) has a follow up appointment at St. Jude that week so I won't be able to come for this event.

The Charity for this event is Victory Junction Gang Camp. that place is AWESOME! We toured it last year. I really hate to miss this.

Just as an update, the event is on a Wednesday because Kyle Petty will be there. I'm taking a couple of days off work so I can go. Normal deal with the HCMC, we're getting preferential treatment cause we're awesome like that so if you get there at 9 you can come straight through with us and not have to wait in line.

I will be coming from Goldsboro with two other stangs via hwy70/40 up through Raleigh.
So if anyone would like to meet up somewhere to pony trail up let me know!

I plan to be there early to roll in with HCMC and Larry to get some of that "Preferential Treatment". Leaving Goldsboro around 7am.

You'll be late then. HCMC is meeting at Chick FilA on Brier Creek Parkway at Lumley Rd at 7 for a 7:15 departure. They usually get to the gate at 8:30 and get waved through around 9 AM. I'll be meeting up with them on the road in Semora at 8 or so (I'll be there at 8 waiting for them to convoy through).

Going to do my best to make this one. If I don't spend the night in High Point I will leave the house NLT than 6 to meet the HCMC crew.

I just got the email from VIR about this...man I hate that I'm going to miss it. Jason's even off of school for Easter and could have come with me for a change. He would love it.
