Thanks! I actually today and tomorrow off too and I'll have to run over to lowes and get some, and that will actually save me some money.

And I thought irmo was messed up with their two week delay. Don't forget to get some laydown plastic to avoid painting the yard/driveway. Dave how close did you tape the wheels? I was thinking of spraying the rim and then taking a razor blade around the rim and peeling off the overspray. Thoughts?

When my friend did it, he put flash cards around the wheel between the wheel and tire, then pulled them out before it dried enough to rip up the plastidip on the rims. Worked great, no taping, no peeling overspray.

No need to tape between the wheel and tire. Plastidip is funny stuff. If there is a raised edge it will peel at that edge. Just spray the tire just as heavy as the wheel then peel just the tire part. It will peel off the tire but not the wheel.
Also..you may want to lay the wheel on a flat surface and place the lug nuts in the holes and then spray. I took tape and made kind of a hersheys kiss looking wrapper of each of the lug nuts so I could pull them up before it dried.
The reason for this is when you put the lug nuts back on and start torquing them the edges will grab the plastidip and peel it if you just paint under the lugs.
It is pretty cool stuff but it really is different to work with.

Well I had planned on removing my stripes anyway and all this talk got me to thinking about how hard it would be to remove year old Plastidip. There were some rock chips out of the bumper stripe and a couple of tears in the hood stripe.
While Vinyl stripes would probably have held up better over the last year they are also much much thicker.
It took about an hour and a half to completely remove the stripes. I just need to go back and clay bar.
I will most likely repaint them with plastidip this spring but for now I'll enjoy going Au Naturale.
