Just to ease anyones mind about long term plastidip. I have now completely removed the stripes from my car that were done with plastidip. It has been on for 1 year.
There were no adverse affects whatsoever. No ghost stripes or marking of any kind.
It wasn't as easy to remove as it was when it was first put on. It came off in much smaller pieces but it did come off fairly easily.
It took about 8 hours to mask and paint the stripes and about 2 1/2 to remove them.

Hey man how did you do it. Specifically, did you apply all the coats immediately and pull off the tape immediately (saw that on a dipyourcar YouTube vid) or did you apply a coat, let it dry then apply another let it dry etc and then pull off the tape? Or does the plasti dip stick to the tape? Gonna put a hood stripe on today so if anyone knows pleas chime in!!

You have to peel the tape immediately. Put as many coats on as you can BEFORE it starts to dry.
The plastidip will stick to the tape if you let it go too long and it starts drying.

Alright gents, I had my first experience with plastidip today and it was fun. I tried to do a center stripe on the hood. My first attempt passed the "few feet away" test but I didn't pull the tape off quick enough so the plastidip pealed up in a few areas leaving rough edges. My gf assisted in our 2nd attempt where we strategically prepared to peal the tape off quickly. The lines came out great this time but there is some bubbling in certain areas so again it looks grey from a few feet but a closer inspection will lead to scrutiny. That being said the stuff came off like a charm and I can't wait to play with this stuff.

First picture is the mustang stripe I was trying to emulate,

Second pic is my after pic with plast dip second go round.

Third is a link to YouTube of my gf pealing my first strip off. Like I said it was a sinch!
