Really sorry Kevin. I have been there and it was one of the hardest things I've ever done. I knew it was the best for her but it still hurt like hell. Hang in there buddy.
This is the forth time for me, but the last two were brutal. I was really attached to both of my Labradors. You can't help but feel guilty when you make the decision, but you're just trying to do what's best for the pup. Sue was a very strong dog and the sedatives they were giving her weren't knocking her out. She was squirming around fighting it for 35 minutes. It was terrible. I'll probably get another dog, either a German Shepard from the rescue or a Bernese. But I'll be really concerned if and when I have to do this again due the this last experience. Thanks again for all your thoughts guys.
Well my dad had to go in today for a follow up to check his bladder to make sure they got it all after the surgery. Unfortunately when they went in they found something much larger than before and claimed it was of "great concern." He has to go back in for surgery on June 25th to remove it and hopefully get some sort of update. Hopefully a good one.
