Deb's dad died this morning of what most likely was a heart attack. He didn't suffer at all, got up had coffee and a little breakfast, walked to get his newspaper and by the time he got back to the house he felt it happening. He told my mother-in-law that he didn't want to leave her but he was dying. The EMT's got him back briefly but couldn't keep him.

It has been a rough day for everyone. He was a simple 88 year old man that grew up as the son of a poor farmer in eastern NC. Wise beyond his basic education, hard working and way more than a father-in-law to me. Going to miss the cantankerous rascal.........

My Dad is going in for surgery this morning at 11:00 CST. Back surgery, one that he has had before and the doc says it's routine.
