Sorry about your father Kevin. There is not a lot that can be said, praying for you and your family. There is a song, "Leader of the Band", Dan Fogelberg. If you can play it with him it will say a lot to both.

When I have a moment that I am thinking about my father I try to play the song. It helps me.

Yesterday the Lake City FL VA hospital called my daughter looking for me because I'm listed as emergency contact for Pop (Laura's dad). I called back yesterday and got nothing, so called back today and finally got a call-back.

Pop has been having problems with falling, so he went to the VA and they have sent him to short-term hospice in Lake City. He has a grand-daughter an hour away in Jacksonville FL and didn't tell her anything either.

I worry about him because he's there all alone and he won't move because he wants to be close to the VA there and the closest relative to him is my daughter. At least my parents have all my siblings in the same town with them.

 

Sorry to hear that Larry. My Dad is falling all the time too, and sliced his head open. But now he's not getting out of bed. I hope things improve for him.
