yeah but are there certain program names like photoshop v.456 or something like that?

CS and CS2 are the 2 latest versions. Very similar, either will work well.

this should seriously be a sticky. this gets asked like once a week anymore.

Photoshop 7.0 with ImageReady

thats your core Photoshop program anymore, anything lower is really considered obsolete. (9.0) CS and CS2 are the same thing, but with some more features, that i have found through books and such, that arent really worth the extra money for the program.
