when doing a photoshop pic i save as but the format bar doesnt give me any options..
do i need to open the chop up in another program and save it there? like in paint or notepad?

this is driving me crazy...please help

 

try saving it as a copy if you have an older version

 

should have lots of options...

 

If you have lots of layers, paths or alpha channels in the image, you might need to flatten the image before it will let you save it as a jpeg/gif/bmp.

I do two things...

1. I save the source image, the one withe layers and stuff as "Photoshop (*.PSD;*.PDD)
2. I save the image as a .JPG if it doesn't have any animation and .GIF if it does

the image that you will load on the internet for others to see is the .JPG or the .GIF , don't give the source file away because then someone else can use your work and change stuff around.

* note: if you save your file as JPG or GIF you will lose all your layers, it all converts into one image or one layer.
