Default Is it just me or...

So I leave for school and my car (https://mustangforums.com/forum/memb...ums-my-66.html) stays at home for the past year+ then I decide to take a gander at how things are going and it seems as if the aftermarket for cars has diminished as I have noticed a smaller variety and options on some of the main parts websites. Am I just seeing things or has this actually happened?

I purchased my car less then a year ago in early April '08. Probably in honesty wasn't my first choice but it was a decent deal price wise and it was local...no way I was buying a car without seeing it first and out of state meant go there to look or roll the dice and buy something based on pictures.

What I have noticed the last few times I looked around lately is that there are a lot more classic type cars for sale now and the prices seem down some due to increased supply. Most ads read something such as "new baby, have to sell toy" or "out of work, have to sell toy".

Sure wish in hindsight I had waited a year to buy but what's done is done.

i seriously doubt that the aftermarket has diminished

what sources are you looking at? NPD, Mustangs Unlimited, Virginia Classic Mustang, etc.?

Carrying inventory is carrying expense. The supplier has paid for those parts and if they are slow to sell his money is just sitting on the shelf. However, you are likely to find what you are looking for somewhere. If you have five suppliers and four stop carrying a part, then the fifth supplier may well have enough demand for it to keep it in stock since everyone will end up buying it from him.

+1 on craigslist...I have found a few things for myself on there and even managed to find some items for friends, etc.

I wish I had waited as well in hindsight. I bought mine end of April 2008 and it has been in the shop since then getting all the "little things" fixed that my inspector seems to have overlooked. I did notice that I could have bought a car this week that is better than what mine will be when I get it out of the shop.

Granted it is only through pictures so I could be wrong...I sure have been in the past.
