I guess Ford is a major sponsor.

I so want to do this to my car now. Apparently, it's not only scientifically possible, but they've already fabricated parts that fit a '69. Cool beans.

Normally kitt is a gt500kr but he can change to different cars seen a crown vic cop car a ford cargo van even a f150.Last nights show the mustang he turned in to was a 69 mach1 just like 4reboy car.Here is a screen shot i took
