I can't remember if it was the Holley carb on my mustang or the Edelbrock Manifold that has the little American Flag sticker. Makes me proud to see that under the hood.
Of course there's a lot of other things under there that I try not to look at but I'm getting all that fixed.

Back in the day, all cars had carbs, points, etc.. Now, most are electronic fuel injection. There was a movie some years ago called "Other Peoples Money" in which the character played by Danny DiVito said the surest path to failure is to capture an increasing share of a decreasing market. That, plus decreased hobby spending is a tough pill to swallow for niche companies which used to make every day products.

Now Holley going South is not funny at all...
I sure ain't gonna buy an Edelbrock carb if they go under.
Before the Crisis that we have now, I always wondered how they stay in business though...
It's not like you're buying carburetors every months lol. No cars are made with them anymore.
People that do restomod, go to EFI nowadays also.
So it's not like there is a huge market for carbs anymore.

OK, I just returned a solenoid to the auto parts store. The counter man ask me whats wrong with it, I replied, "Its made in china". Every time I looked at the engine, it haunted me to see it. I was unable to find any solenoid at "any" auto parts store in town that was made in USA, they all had chinease crap. I ordered a Motorcraft (and I hope its made here) and it should be here this week and maybe I will be at peace. Now for a stereo, ha ha.
