Mine is easier to see when the wheel is turned slightly, I have it under the speedo on my 67.

Why don't you just put it straight up in the middle? Get a hose clamp and paint it black or the same color red that your interior is. Those tie wraps look cheesy. There isn't anything for it to really obstruct the view of on your 67.

You might consider doing a google search. I remember seeing a tech article or thread a while back about taking the instrument cluster slot for the clock and putting a tach in it. It might be that they actually make a tach that fits the clock location for 67-68. I don't remember exactly what it was that I saw. I remember that it was sweet though.

This tach would fit in that spot, but I don't want to cut the hole. I couldn't put it in the middle because the bracket hits the chrome middle piece of the bezel and it won't sit flush with the column.

I know the wire ties look crappy, but I couldn't find a hose clamp here that was the right size. They were either way too big or too small.

well...i put my tach (same as yours) in the middle. looks fine

and as for what tx65 was talking about, there is a company that makes the mini tach that goes in the clock position. ask Tad (aka Starfury) about it, he has it

The one that fits in the clock spot is I believe $90. It is called Mini-tach. Seems like they don't have any for sale though.

Yeah, That tach for 67-68 is sweet!

I agree, I wouldn't cut my cluster to put the sunpro tach in there either.

Why won't is sit straight up? I guess I can't really picture why it won't. I have seen others done that way. Does the back of the tach hit the chrome strip between the gauges? Would it sit down on the steering column if the front edge of the tach bracket was trimmed slightly or is it too much of a clearance problem.

Yes, it hits that chrome strip. The bracket might sit down if it was trimmed, but there is a big plastic screw that goes on the back to keep the tach connected to the bracket.

Got lucky, found a hose clamp that worked. I had to search for it, but did find one.

Thats cool. If you don't want the hose clamp to scratch the column you can also do what I did. After I painted the hose clamp black, I wrapped it in black heat shrink.
