the fitment notes say auto with column shift?? I don't see how it would matter with that exhaust?

 

It can depending where the linkage is at.But those should fit fine.

 

It's not the exhaust but the actual header pipes that can be in the way with a column shift...I recall the 70s as having some sort of column hook up even though they are a floor shift..I never realized this until I mounted a tach on the column of my 70..When I shifted it out of park the tach turned on the column!

 

how do I know if it will fit then....I have an fmx if that matters.

 

I was playing with the shifter on the floor and nothing moved on the column, so would that mean these headers wont work?

 

I read the whole page i don't see anything about a column shift on there?If it was me i would buy the headers and whatever muffler i want let a local exhaust shop do the rest of the piping.
