Hi! My name is sighjustme (kip)...and I am an artist, looking to paint a 1973 boss 302 fastback with black strip for a friend. All I can find is a Mach. Can you tell me what the difference is between the boss fastback and the Mach? I think the grill is different. But I am an artist who just LOVES old cars, especially mustangs. Can you also tell me the difference in a 1970 and 1973? Is it possible to post a picture somehow? Or send me a link to a page that has what I am looking for?

Does it have to be a 73? Here is a 71 Boss 351. The years 71-73 all look basically the same. The 69 and 70 look close but have a few noticable differences. Which one do you really want?

A 71 boss 351 and mach1 are twins besides the engine and badges.71/72 are twins 73 got a bigger bumper to meet crash test standards of the time.For pictures http://www.themustangsource.com/timeline/

Just so there is no confusion...there is no such thing as a 1973 Boss 302 mustang. So you can in theory paint it anyway you want.

Thanks guys! The guy I am doing the painting for had a 1973 boss 302 fastback he said, with black strip...and also he had a 1970 boss 302 fastback. I just want to get as close as possible. To me, ALL mustangs are SWEEET!

Last boss mustang made was 71 and it was a 351 so hes pulling your leg on a 73 boss it might be a 302 but a boss 302 vs a normal one is huge.
