Default disc brake question

I have inherited a 1967 mustang coupe. I was told someone had already changed the front drums to Granada disc. When inspecting the brakes I noticed the driver's side rotor had ridges on the inside of the rotor. So, I went to the passenger side to find the same was true on that side. There are two ridges that actually look like they are suppose to be there. Is that what they are suppose to look like or do I need to replace them. Thanks in advance.

Do you mean there are grooves in the rotor surface where the pads ride in a circle? or do you mean there are ridges at the very lip of the rotor like the pad doesn't touch the entire surface of the rotor all the way across? A pic would be helpful.

Yes, where the pads ride, not the edges. It just doesn't seem right to me. I'll try to get a picture.
