Default radiator reccomendations

so it dawned on me as to why i was having cooling issues, and it was because i have my radiator that i purchased for my stock 289 trying to cool my performance 302... so i was wondering if anyone could point me towards a good radiator i could buy that wont break the bank(looking to spend around 200$) that will keep my engine running smooth and cool. thanks in advance

also, if i were to switch my water pump to have the upper hose meeting on the driver side, would that allow for more options? or pointless to do?

Upgrade to a 3 or 4 row assuming you now have a 2 row.

Easiest way would be to get a stock replacement rad. with more or larger cores as mentioned and keep the outlets where the are.

You may have to use a different timing cover for the right hand exit water pump depending on what the back of your current water pump looks like (backing cover or open) and you'd need to research which year pump to use as the later ones are reverse rotation. I think the early right hand exit started in '70?

i found this on summit and the inlet/outlet match up, and it is larger than my radiator, i would just have to worry about how to mount it up but that wouldnt be difficult at all... what do u think?

In the notes, it says it is for models without A/C. That would indicate to me it is barely adequate for the motor and any thing additional would cause it to overheat.

Just get one from a reputable mustang vendor with more rows and be done with it.
