Default 68 Fastback trunk lid

I'm over in the UK and I wonder if you chaps could help me.

I require a new metal trunk lid for my 68 Fastback, and I'm wondering which manufacturer is the best as far as fit goes. I currently have a glass fiber one, which isn't the best fit in the world.

I like the back end on the old fastback and want it to look spot on. Would you say a metal one was lighter than the glass one, as the hinges seem a little stressed with this one fitted.

I would appreciate your help on this one, as I don't want any more fit issues.

Regards.

Paul..

It depends on how thick the fiberglass is sometimes it can be heavier then steel. As far as brand to buy i would look for ford tooling if you can get it,It will cost more but those parts are more likely to fit better then the normal aftermarket stuff.

I think I'd scour Ebay and find somebody selling an original before dropping too much coin on a repop or a glass lid. It is likely to cost but nothing fits like original equipment.

I missed two on ebay over here, but that sort of stuff doesn't come up very often in the UK. Not having another glass one.

I've got a message up on one of the forums over there, not had any joy. Are those Dynacorn ones any good. Must be one make that is OK apart from Ford. Can't adjust this glass one, it's to far back. Don't look right underneath either.

Default Trunk Lid

I would prefer to get it in the states, as it will hopefully work out cheaper, the only draw back if it's not up to scratch it's majorly difficult to send it back. So I want to make sure I get a good make.
