I have a Late model 5.0 H.O. with an AOD in my 66 and I bought the Tri-Y headers and they are touching the transmission pan. Are there any other headers to use that don't touch? Can I bend them a little bit to get them away from pan?

 

I don't think any stock headers will clear the aod,But you can make the headers fit with some bending.

 

Be aware that bending can lead to cracking a flange weld which will leak, so be prepared to reweld. We it happened to me, I had an old head to use as a fixture for the welder to lay a good bead on the outside of the flange where the tubes came out.
