Help Please, Correct 66 Control Arm Info Needed
I have a 66 289 C code mustang. My problem is I carried my car in to my local shop to have new ball joints and control arms installed. When I went to pick up they said they had the wrong ones that my car had originally been a 6 cly. But it is a 2V V8 and the VIN shows this. They said the ones they had ordered were 2 inches to long. Should I remove mine myself and measure before ordering or am I missing something.

Does it have disc brakes? If so maybe someone did a change for Granada parts, spindles and others. IF so, the tapers are different and need inserts. They may have used the Granada upper and lower arms.
The method of camber adjustment change from shims in pre'67 to eccentric in 67 and later.
A basic front suspension kit with new arms, springs and steering components can be bought for about $350. Installation is time consuming but there are You Tube videos. Getting the spring and shock back in are the hardest parts. At least for some reason the shock seemed to be about 1/2" to short on ours.
