Trade 1972 Q code Mach 1 for 1969 Mach 1???
I have a 72 Mach 1 351CJ, 4 speed, AC, project car. Its a 1 of 1 optioned car per my MARTI report. Body is solid and has new floor pans. It needs paint and interior. I have a chance to trade for a similar condition 69 Mach 1 with a 351W auto. Why should or should I not do it?
Thanks

Wade, just a few questions on that 1 of 1 Marti report. What was it that made it the only one built? It usually gets narrowed down to oe item and I'm curious as which one it was.
I've seen a hundred 72 Mach 1's with Cobra jet's around my town back in the day. All various colors.
Now back to the trade question.
Pro's of the 72
You may have a 1 of 1 car = adds value to the right person
It may appeal to someone that had one and wants another to relive their younger days.
Cons
It's a 72 which is not the most desirable body style.
72 HP ratings and performance were very low compared to previous years ( the 351 CJ was heavily under rated at the time though)
IT is still in the project stages
Pro's of the 69
Very desirable body style = more value for your dollar
Brings good money in any condition
351w was a decent motor to begin with, but upgrade parts are readily available to make more HP.
Con's
Ususally a lot of hidden rust in these bodies
It's still a project car
So in the end it comes down to this:
Which one appeals more to you? The 69 or the 72.
