Default Can the fuel filter on a '65 200-6 Really be Replaced?

I own an inherited '65 with the 200-6 engine. When I first started it this Spring after a winter nap, it leaked fuel from, I think, the connection between the fuel pump and the spin on fuel filter (white with red Ford instructions) that sits on top of it.. When i started it again the following day-no leak. I bought a new housing, filter and O ring BUT what's the best way to remove the old filter? I really don't want to end up with the "screwdriver through the housing" situation. Many thanks in advance

An oil filter wrench for a motorcycle will work.
