Default RE: Incorrect Engine Mounts?

Hello Popper
Its me that has to thank you for effort. I will have to face the same situation soon. I too ordered motor mounts from texas (??) just to compare. I don't have them yet but based on what you say I will receive the same ones (as anchor spares on shelf) that I akready have. I can see I have the same headaches you are working on as soon coming. Please continue to post. I'm pretty sure you are helping many of us.

OK, I decided to get this over with so I'm ordering new brackets and mounts for a '66. From what I understand the only thing it will change is lower the engine about an inch. Besides, it must be a better design since Ford had problems with the early ones tearing and therefore made the change in '66 to the 2 piece design.

Thanks for everyone's help!

Well I got my new brackets and mounts from California Mustang. It looks like they only have 2 long bolts on the bracket that attaches to the frame... my old bracket had 3. Is this correct for a '66 bracket? If so, which 2 of the 3 holes do I use? Also looks from eyeballing it these are going to raise my engine about an inch.

Anyone happen to have a pic of a '66 bracket and mount correctly installed?

Thanks,
Rich
