That's got to be the biggest f'in throttle return spring I have ever seen.
If it was really running and running good just the other day, start with the coil and the choke tower......and your knowledge of starting a non-EFI car.

Some plug pictures.
The back right plug has more of a copper shine on the end while the front left was more charred.

Asked napa what they thought and they suggested I replace the solenoid thats on the left fender....when your looking in the engine. But that did nothing. I dont have anyone here right now to help me test the spark, so ill have to wait to do that. I really apprecite you guys helping me though.
Soaring your opening/closing points got me lost. Thanks though.

Ok checked for spark and we have spark going to the plugs. We did the screw driver test.I also noticed two wires that have one going to the coil then one going to the block have a burnt/fried area around the same spot on both wires. Could this be the problem? If so, wouldnt I not be getting any spark? Ill get some pics of it too.

Is the vehicle mostly stock?
Ford made a fusible link (it looks like a pregnant wire) wires in series with your solenoid. I'm not sure what caused mine to go bad 15 years ago (I had a 68' back then) but, it took me weeks of headaches and a few hundred bucks replacing the voltage reg., the solenoid and some other sh#t before I found somebody that knew about this mysterious part. It was like $2 and replaced in 5 min.
I can't remember if the car was cranking and it wouldn't start or if it wouldn't turn over but, I've been telling everybody about this stupid little part for 15 years.

The bottom burnt wire appears to be going to your temperature sending unit, and the top one goes to the coil. I would repair them, but I doubt that is what your problem is since you are getting spark to the plug. Are you getting gas in the carb?
