Take the fuel line off the carb and see if the carb is getting fuel. If not, you may have to replace the fuel pump. Are you gettting fire through the dizzy ?

Take it to a mechanic. You obviously don't have enough knowledge to work on your car yourself. Not to put you down at all, but some just have limits.

i have the knowledge. I just use to be a turbo 4 cyl guy. So the word of v8's is new to me. I cant afford a mechanic. I only had 6$ left over after I bought this car
:P

Im going to check the dist/wires/plugs when I get home tonight.

Well, I noticed one thing. Whenever I try to start it the negative battery terminal smokes a little. But I guess ill buy some plugs tomorrow and slowly work my way the the ignition parts. BTW I was told to convert from "points" to hei? I think thats right. I know its something to do with the ignition, but how would I go about with this?
Thanks
Nathen

ya, my negative smoked a little too, then i blew my alt and it still smokes every once in a while...but that will all be replaced soon so cheers on that. points are what you probably have and its part of the dizzy. HEI is a non-points distributor that I think started with GM bbut who cares about them for this purpose. It provides a more accurate and hotter spark with a wider spark plug gap. Basically, depending on what type of ignition you get, take out the entire old dizzy, replace with a new dizzy like an MSD or Mallory, connect a new ignition coil, change the spark plug wires if necessary and probably will be and viola! I tihnk. I dunno, I havent quite gotten to that part of my engine, im still re-assembling it from the shop...Some of you with MSD/other HEI can fill in my blanks.
