Default Flush Brakes

The pedal on a 70 fastback I just bought goes almost to the floor before stopping. Car has power brakes. Have not check brakes yet to see if pads are worn or tif there is any other problsm. The car has sat for a pretty long time with previous owner driving it pretty sparingly. One of things I'm going to do is flush the brake lines, I have changed brakes but never flushed out old fluid. Anbody have any tips for doing?

Just take the brake line loose and let them drain. How to change the fluid and replace with new is a long procedure and is the same on all model of cars. So, I will just offer this tech article for you to use as a guide on how to do it. http://www.sandiegomiataclub.org/SDM...ake_Fluid.html

Stainless steel teflon brake lines are designed for racing situations. I doubt seriously if you will be racing, so you won't need to pay that extra expense for them.

If you mean on the brake line fittings, the answer is no. The seal is made between the brake line and the nipple (that's why you need to use a double flare). The brass retainer just applies pressure. Do not use teflon tape on brake fittings.
