Hi Im curious as to what cars would come with a 460 in it so i could check the local junkyards to see if they might have one so i can break it down and build it up for my 69 fastback?
Depending on where you live... a 460 should be an easy acquisition. They are VERY plentiful in most of our area salvage yards. Commonly found in Ford pickups from 1976 to the late 90's and found in Ford, Lincoln and Mercury cars from 1973 until about 1980. The Lima engines were also built in 429 CID and if you can find a D0OE-A block to go with a set of D0VE-C heads, you'll have something. The 429's first saw usage in the 1969 Lincolns and were VERY common in MANY FoMoCo cars from 1969-1972. I've given as little as 50.00 for a complete 460 core with all brackets and accessories. Hope this helps, Dean
