Default Front Suspension

Basically a newbie and have a question on front suspension. Car I bought 1970 fastback drives straight, no shimmey, but squawks away when hitting bump or pushing down on driver side. Question I have is I've seen some kits on ebay that replaces upper and lower control arms, ties rods, ball joints, shocks, front & rear springs, etc. for about $775 is this over kill or worth doing. This is a link for a kit for diffent year but they offer the same kit for 1970

Plan on using as a weekend driver and want to have reliable w/o breaking the bank. Appreciate any feedback.

thanks

The squeek is from the upper A arm bushings. Is it over kill? Yes but it will be nice when you are done.

I personally would try and find the kit somewhere other than e-bay (like a professional business) before I get it because I keep hearing horror stories about people getting screwed on a deal with e-bay.... I have also never dealt with e-bay before and don't really plan on it (I like having a guarantee that I will get the part I pay for or get my money back) but I'm sure e-bay isn't as bad as I am making it sound...

The price seems a tad steep. Check THIS out.

I am fixing to buy one of these type of kits for my 73.

Laurel mountain mustang is a good seller and the price on the kit seems really good for all of the stuff that you are getting. All this cus the upper A arms are squeeking? That seems like you are going a little over board.

I ordered the same kit from Laurel Mountain Mustang off of ebay. It was a great kit and it's also the cheapest I found. They are an established business so you wont have any worries about them. If all of your suspension is old on you car I personally would recomend getting it. All I needed was ball joints and tie rod ends but I went ahead and got the whole kit. Well worth the money in my opinion.

Thanks for all the advice - I think what I'm going to do is change upper arm bushing - in looking at shop manual looks like something I can handle. I will do whole kit as winter project later this year.

My 65 has grease zerks on the control arm. Before you invest in a new suspension system or even change the control arms, see if you can shoot some grease in there. That's all it takes to take the squeak out of mine.
