Default Installing new headlights

Hey guys.

I was driving tonight and noticed one of my headlights was out, so I decided on going ahead and changing both of them.

How do I go about doing this?

There are four screws that hold the bucket bracket on. Take that off, then you will see a chrome ring that holds the headlight in place. Take those screws out. Don't mess with the big machine screw, as that aligns the headlight, and doesn't have anything to do with the replacement of the headlight bulb. You just pull the light out of the three pronged socket, and replace the old with the new bulb. Now, you may notice that the hook up is rusted or weather worn (corroded) , so you may have a connection problem. I replaced mine last week, and had to solder the wires directly to the new bulb while waiting for a new connection. (three pronged socket with 6 inch pigtails) Texas Mustang now has the new ones, so I ordered one and will put it in next week when I get it.

Once you get the old headlight out, you can inspect the three pronged female plug to determine if it is still good to go or not. Mine was corroded, and part of the plastic was broken off. So, again, just to get lights, I had to solder the wires directly to the bulb, then when my new connection arrives, I will relplace it. Many vendors will tell you that you have to order a whole new wiring harness for the headlights. Don't believe them. TexasMustang.com has the new connectors. Here is a pic of my old one. Look familiar?
