What would be a good cam size to use in a 351C to get good drivability on the street, and a little bit of reliability? I don't want to idle out at the stop light, and would love to not press so hard to keep the car stopped on the street. These are the specs on one I'm looking at right now.. I'm not going for all out performance, just driving.

Duration 276/286
Lift .509/.509
Lobe duration is 114]

What do you all think?

That will work ok. I have run larger cams with stock converters in 4V's. Another good one would be listed below. A bit more lift, and about the same duration, Should have a nice idle to it also, just a slight chop but still easy to tune.

CCA-CL32-246-4 Competition Cams Xtreme Energy Cam and Lifter Kits
Cam and Lifters, Hydraulic Flat Tappet, Advertised Duration 274/ 286, Lift .562/ .565, Ford, 351C/

Well umm... I have one lying around so why not? Parts are cheap for it, its right here, its a solid good engine that has a long history of working well, and makes some really good power. Besides, when it comes down to it, its not the manufacturer of the engine, its what the guy building it up does to it. A Windsor, cleveland, hemi, and whatever else out there is able to do the same things, and like I said, its lying here, so why not build it up

It's not like it's a drop it in and hook it up deal though. It'll take some work to get a 350 into a stang. I'm sure it has been done.

Countless times. Between me and my friends, we have enough experience to do it, plus my best friend has a hot rod shop in san francisco. I was also gonna put in a mustang II suspension and custom build a rear suspension rail to get rid of the leaf springs and keep the car on the ground with all that performance. I dont have time for that right now though, so its staying the way it is for a while.
