ENgine Code
i dont know if any of you remember the post a week or so ago about the crazy vacum set up with the three ports on the thermostat housing and two on the dizzy, well i got bored tonight so i went out and pulled off the starter and got the engine code.
it reads: C8AE-6015-B
5 8A8
could someone tell me what this number means exactly.

C8AE-6015-B is a 302 block from the Windsor plant that was used in 1968 on a 289. That's according to infomation found here www.classicmustang.com/casting_numbers.htm
Also the other 4 digits are the date code, but I'm not sure you wrote them down correctly because usually the date code is a number, letter, then one or two numbers. For example the date code on my intake manifold is 8H19 [8= manufactured 1968, H=August, 19= 19th day of the month].. 8/19/1968
Although if you disregard the '5', then the 8A8 would mean that your block was manufactured 1/8/1968. Possibly the 5 is not part of the sequence.
