Default Need Advice for a 70 model!!!!

We are working on a mint condition 70 model mustang with a 351 windsor. It has true duals with flowmasters, we want to change the exhaust in to seomthing more effective. Is a h-pipe good on these models? Or What would be the best set-up?
Also it has a two barrel- carb on it. What is the best four barrel to go with it... I mean the best!

Any other suggestion as far as making this thing run like a scalded dog...

You will get differing opinions regarding the intake manifold and carburetors. I'll leave that argument to the other members. On your exhaust question.....it is better to have an H pipe than just two pipes, but the "X" pipe is superior to the "H". A lot of guys prefer the H pipe because of the sound it produces, but the X pipe aspirates the engine better.

Ditto to soaring on the crossover vs. xpipe.Put a good set of headers in front of that system, add 1 Edelbrock manifold,1 600 cfm vaccum secondary Holley carb, upgrade to electronic ignition and you will see a vast improvement. But, you didn,t say how many miles are on the engine, what cam, what heads, etc.
