See, Thats what i thought about doing. I tried to beat out those stupid lugs with a sledge hammer, but they didn't budge, The noise just gave me a big headache.

 

Pull the axle and take it to a machine shop Charles. Wake up, and smell the coffee.

 

im calling a local tire shop to ask if they can do it.

 

I'll bet they will do it my way. We always did them that way when I was turning wrenches. I can't believe someone could not get the studs out with a sledge hammer. 4 or 5 taps with a big ballpeen is all it usually takes.

 

How you gonna get it to the shop? Tow it?

 

No, you don't have to tow an axle.

 

Ok good point. I assumed he was talking about taking the whole car down there.

 

I can see a large lip keeping the studs from being beat out..... Im going to drive the car over there. It's nine miles, and im going to take it nice and slow. Wish me luck.
