Take the axle out and take it to the shop. Or, after you get the axle out, you should be able to knock out the bolts and replace them with new ones yourself.

Why not cut the old lugs off where the lip is and punch the rest through the back of the hub??

I run a medium sized shop with five lifts. We deal with this problem on a regular basis. 99.99% of the time we do NOT pull the axle to replace studs. We do it exactly as 67t5ponycoupe described. They will pop right out with a good shot of a hammer. It's not a tough job.

Yup, I have done it as well on my 66. Not a big deal, a good hammer and some muscles..

lol, those damn studs did not come out with a sledge hammer. I didn't hit it for long, because the noise was reverabting off the metal building and giving me a giant headache. but they should have came out with the couple of hits i gave them. im not a small guy. 6 foot, 235 lbs.

Put some WD40 on them then give them a few wacks and let it stand over night. The next day go at it again and they should come out.

It's already at the shop. Im letting them fool with it, and have some new tires put on in the process. Im glad too. They haven't been balanced, and i couldn't drive over 60 comfortably. That was very hard on me.

I think that was the wise thing to do.
