I need leaf spring opinions
time to replace my rear leaf springs, but with some many options (Blocks, standard, mid, reverse eye, and 4, 4 1/2, 5 leafs) i wanted to seek some opions.
this is what i got... the car is an I6 with a c4, it will be a 302 with a T5 next winter, right now i'm putting the 6 back in to get it registered. currently i have global west control arms up front (1 3/16" lower mounting holes) and grab a track 620# 1" drop coils and a 1" sway bar working with my granada swap spindles. and in the rear i have a 3/4" sway bar and an 8" rear waiting for the V8. I have KYBs all arround...
what leaf and block combination would you reccomend?
Thanks!

Try http://www.mustangsteve.com/rideheight.html to get some ideas. Just finished my 66 with 620's/mid-eye, no shelby drop. It currently sits level. The pic's help. BTW, what year stang? There's a 1000 lb dif in GVW between 65 and 73. That will have an impact.
Some strong sway bars and a good set of shocks will tighten up the rear. If you use 5 leaf springs, be expecting a rough ride.

I would say that it depends upon your goal. I have a very similar front setup (1 1/4 sway, 1 3/16" drop, camber wedges, eccentric elim, no tcp). In the rear I have a 9" with reverse eye 1 1/2 drop 5 leaf springs, 7/8" sway, and KYB gas adj.
The car sits pretty level. I'll tell you one thing, I am certain that I would have softer suspension if I welded it all solid.
Some people might not like the ride but I love it. Coupled with 4 wheel disks and the 5 speed the car is Incredibly responsive. IMHO, you should do up the rear to match the front. If not you will have some wacky handling characteristics. You should probably go with at least 4 1/2 leaf, NO blocks.

As for the leaf choice, given the drop you have in the front end already 4.5 mid eyes would prob suit your needs.
