classics are everywhere
A few months ago i noticed that classic stangs are appearing everywhere on the streets. I have a good friend with a 69 Mach, plus 3 more classic guys in my neighborhood, a vert, and two FBs. Now, I've noticed that on TV they're everywhere too. The American Express 1 commercial with that reject who was a born saver, lol, makes a phone call from next to a classic stang, check the tailights if you see it. In CBS' The Unit, one of the guys has a classic coupe. I just saw on ABC's the Evidence, the white partner has a classic fastback, covered in leaves and crap but its there. I just saw Pay it Forward for the first time a few weeks ago and the reporter had a coupe. Another movie taking place in the seventies had one that I saw just a few days ago but I cant remember which movie it is. Either way, they're everywhere, lol, and it's pretty impressive i think.
Yeah, whenever the better half and I watch TV movies I quite often spot a classic. Then, I say "Hey Baby, look at that 65 convertible" or "Hey Baby, look at that 68 fastback." She just briefly looks, then goes back to reading or doing her crossword puzzles. [:'(] I guess spotting classic Mustangs that are in movies and watching NFL football is a man's thing.
Do you guys find yourselves looking in back yards for grilles pokin out or a glimpse of a tail light? Old cars are distinctive and they are in off the road places everywhere I go. I notice any old car in movies and comercials etc. Plus I am always lookin for projects to ressurect from the ravages of time and the elements..
Its cool having those cars in shows, especially if its like the one we own.

i know what you mean. one of my neighbors has a 67' coupe just like mine. and in another yard down the street there is a late 70's z28 camaro thats been sitting for as long as i can remember.
After I saw Walk The Line, the only thing I could talk about was that coupe in the background when they went to church. Also, last night on That 70's Show, Ashton Kuetcher or whatever had a 66 coupe on his t-shirt.
JC Penny has a fashion commercial running now with a 65/66 vert in it as does one of the investment companies (Ameriprise maybe?). Gotta love the new Mustang tv ad, The Legend Lives, with just ghost images of classic grills and tail lights that morph into a new fastback. Best one was a year or two ago with the solider kid coming back from Iraq and dad gives him his fastback that he bought when he came back from Nam (if recalling it right). (This is mine and Glen's generation...BTW, my wife sees classics on tv and on the street faster than I do.) I wonder if you can view these mustang commericals on Ford's website?
I couldn't afford a new 65 Mustang back when I was in college and they first came out. Heck, they were 17 hundred dollars.
Anyway, everytime I go out of town, my wife catches me looking in yards along the way checking for classic Mustangs. She has to keep reminding me to keep my eye on the road.

The guy I bought my stang from had about 9 or 10 other mustangs in his yard 3 completely restored of the three he fixed one up pretty stock, one he had put fuel injection in, and one he had set up as concourse, it was perfect stickers, tags, and everything... the other 6 or so were in multiple fazes of restoration...
