Hi wired2ten,
Welcome to the forum!!
I am in the process of getting my car ready for paint. I am using a D/A sander and 80 grit. I goes fairly fast. One hr. per panel. Before you start sanding wash your car with comet. Let it dry then wipe it down with wax remover. I am also goint to paint my own car. I am using airplane water borne paint. More user friendly than solvent borne paint. I can't afford 3k min. on a paint job so I am doing it my self. Here is the web site if you are interested. www.aircraftfinishing.com

Talking about Comet. That stuff must be pretty powerful. I found out last summer that if you sprinkle it on fire ant beds, that it will kill them faster than the expensive fire ant killer that you buy. I also learned that Clorox bleach mixed with some water will kill weeds better than Round-up. Okay, I'm off my home remedies kick for now.
