I cant pick a trans.!
Im leaning more towards http://www.tciauto.com/transmissions...eetfighter.htm... my other thought is a t5 world class out of a 93' ler me know what u think...
After a closer read, I see that the streetfighter is not the brand of transmission, but a beefed up C4, C6 or whatever. Probably a tough tranny for racing. Also, there are about 40 different models of T-5 World class trannies. Take a read.

In order to help you with a tranny decision some other things are needed:
1. Car use
2. Car power
3. Rear gear
TCI makes some nice units, but if you are building a street car with a peppy 289 (peppy = minor head work, performer intake, RPM intake, moderate linft cam) you are over buying on the trans.
Additionally I am a little confused....a c4 is an auto. A t-5 is a stick. When you say you are also leaning....does that mean you are prepared to do the stick conversion? Its kinda hard (in my mind) to be on the fence like that. To me, you commit to a type (stick or auto) and then find the tranny that will fit your needs in that type. A TCI street fighter c4 is for hard street driving and racing. A t-5 is for cruising. So comparing the 2 at this level is hard.
If you want a street car, with 300 HP, and quick start with a 3.5 rear gear.....the t-5 fits nice
IF you want a fast street car with 400 HP, FAST starts with a 4.1 rear gear...the t-5 doesn't fit nice
If you want a track car.....IMO the T-5 never fits
IF you want a street car, with 300 HP and quick starts with a 3.5 rear gear...the c4 fits nice, but the t5 fits nicer because of OD
If you want a street car, with 400 HP and FAST starts with a 4.1 rear gear....sure the c4 will work....but you will also be outta pep at 6k-6500k depending on the build which would max your top speed at 90 ish.

I would lean toward the known such as the world class.
