Default Classic guys, need some back up!

The hardest decision... 1) sell my 1966 stang and get a new 06 V6 2) keep my 66 and rebuild it with 302 and 5 speed... I blew out my old 289 my 66 is in great cond. it just is sitting with an empty bay.... So keep build up my 66 and spend moneyon engine, trans., disc brakes, a/c... or get 06 and not have to worry about spending all my money in the car...HELP ME!!!! not to mention this will be the only car i have but i dont want to have the 1000 new mustang in my town, i like being to only one of 2 classics in my town

Depends on if you have the money. If you can get that 302/5-Speed in there quickly, DO IT! Like you said, it's awesome being one of the few with a classic. If you can afford the time/money, keep that '66 rollin'!

Obviously, a new car will have all the safety conveniences installed already, and you can never get a 66 up to those standards. The new car will last just about as long as the 66 has if you maintain it. Now, those are the only two positive things I can say about buying a new one. But, if you do decide on a new one, why screw around with a V6 when you can get a 4.6L 32 valve for just a few hundred more?
Now, in about 5 years, that 06 Mustang will be worth less than your 66 that you pumped money into, so monetarily speaking, you will be bucks ahead to keep the 66 and bring it up to modern standards. In the meantime, you are driving a classic. I have an 03 Mach1 and a 65 coupe. Guess which one I drive the most...Yep, the 65.

I think it depends on were you live. If you're in an area like the north east, I classic would not be very practical.

For the money you would invest in the 06 (18-20k) you could have a super nice, very modern 66 mustang, and it will hold its value like Soaring said. Just something to think about.

I had an 05 for a while... All of those modern things are nice but I bought my 05 back in 04 and HAD to get rid of it middle of 05 because I started seeing them EVERYWHERE! I just recently picked up a '68 Coupe that I'm starting to fix up. Luckily early summer of 05 the cars were still in high enough demand that I didn't really lose too much (bought the car at invoice through a LONG time dealer my families gone to for decades)
